CRH – Mississauga Cement Plant Open House September 22, 2018

CRH – Mississauga Cement Plant Open House September 22, 2018

On September 22, 2018  a few members from Friends visited the CRH – Mississauga Cement Plant Open House. The theme of the Open House this year was: Climate Change, Sustainable Development & Biodiversity. There were a variety of tents with very informative displays. The displays included how the plant operates , safety, environmental footprint management and much more. Many of the displays were interactive. The cheerful employees of CRH were willing to explain things at each display.

We stopped by to visit some cute visitors from Earth Rangers. We learned about the Flyway Habitat Restoration Program. There was also a very detailed guided bus tour that showed us how the plant makes the cement from raw material that are unloaded at the dock to the finished product.

CRH has been a long time supporter of Friends and we are extremely grateful for their support. In particular, we want to send a special thank you to Barb Smith, the Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator at CRH.

*Please note, any pictures attached with children were taken with the permission of their parents.
